Does anyone know if this still works on the latest software version.
Had the folder named screen in the root of the directory with a blank file within named capture.
I have checked it is named just capture and not with an extension .txt or .doc or similar.
Have not used for a while but when I come to use it tonight it just starts the map zoom.
Device and application details as per sig below, thanks for any info. _________________ Malcolm

Try putting your thumb (or finger) on the left side of the screen but at the middle, not the top. Then, slide your finger up to the top and see if that helps. _________________ David |

Does the Folder Screen have an Upper Case 'S'?
Does the File capture have a Lower Case 'c'? _________________ Richard

It still works on my GO550 - App 9.058, names "Screen" and "capture" as per Oldboy's post. I can't remember how it behaved as I haven't used it for a while - testing it now takes a fairly long press top left corner (not a tap). _________________ Dennis

Richard / Dennis
I do have a replacement 940 from tomtom that I installed it on.
Can confirm I had screen and capture both all lower case and thanks to your posts I have renamed the folder Screen but unfortunatly still no luck even with the long press rather than the tap which is how I remember it behaved before. _________________ Malcolm

I'd suggest two things. I can't think of any reason for it not to work if you've got it right, so......
First, recreate it. You've got the folder right (assuming it's in the root of the device). Create a new blank file using Notepad and save it as capture, then delete the extension. Copy/Paste it into the Screen folder.
Then do a reset on the device - I never had one so I don't know whether it has a reset hole to poke or long hold down of the power button. _________________ Dennis

Red herring, I'm afraid...
My "screen" folder has always had a small "s" and it has always worked fine.
Clutching at straws... I know you've said you've done this but do you definitely have Windows set to show all file extensions? Check the root directory... are you seeing "antitheft.bmp" and "data.chk" etc. and not just "antitheft" and "data"? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Many thanks and to you all, you have cracked it.
I have just discovered when I set this up I was using another computer that was not set to show all file extensions.
Goes away and hangs head in shame _________________ Malcolm
