|
|
Hi. I recently changed my 720 to 930 and have used it for the first time on holiday this week.
I am having real problems with it freezing up.
I plan a route and start off, it freezes up, I then get the black tomotm screen and it starts again without the route planned?
i am stuck in blackpool (200 miles away from home) with a faulty sat nav, not good. Especially when my receipt from PCW is at home (only bought it 15th this month).
I just wondered if anyone has had any similar problems?
Thanks, Dave. |

Andy, a terrific write-up in the link you provide but I would try the Clear Flash prior to the factor reset, in for nothing else, less redoing of settings after running it.
Just my opinion ... _________________ David |

Good idea...
That write up was based around some "official" advice from TT customer services to a user... so there's probably a better way!
I think I'll swap them round... |

My 730T is acting in the same way. This is my second faulty device. I obtained a replacement for the first and I have created an RMA with TomTom for the return of my replacement device. I followed all the instructions given to me by TomTom but the problems remain. |

Thanks for the help.
I had tried a reset but that did nothing.
I went to PCW in blackpool who found my information on their computer and gave me a unit only exchange(as the box was at home).
I have tried to swap it over on Tomtom home but it will not allow me to as I had recently changed from my 720 so I will have to contact them tomorrow to swap the registration over, I am hoping this is a simple process!
I have made a backup and loaded the PGPSW camera and poi info over and I will take it out later for a spin, fingers crossed.
Thanks again. Dave. |

A decent service from a PCW branch which is only round the corner from my home location, you could have popped in for a brew!
Give TomTom support a ring using 0845 161 0009 in the morning, but it might be easier to simply create a new account with a different e-mail address unless you have plus service that require transfering to the new device?
Also check the version for the software and map as these might need updating using LMG, but I would wait till you get home unless you have a decent internet connection where you are staying - Mike |
