|
|
I have just updated the speed camera database and have noticed that there is no p mobile variable in the new database.
Have they been merged with another camera database or is there an error on my database? |

..another possibility is that there are no pMobile var cameras this release, so there is no folder.
Perhaps somebody will correct me, but I think (starting with the release to which you're referring), the intention is to include a dummy camera in each of these categories so that there will always be a folder to dowload - you might also be interested in looking at this thread.
Hope this helps _________________ Andy

Had you been a bit more observant you would have noticed there weren't
any on the 12th June release either |

If you think what the heading/title actually means, these would be mobile camera vans etc. working within one of the variable sections of motorways such as the M25, whilst the variable speed limit is in operation.
As far as I know, this simply doesn't happen; so there aren't any Mobile.var OR pMobile.var camera locations. |

IIRC the one sole case that was a Mobile Var was apparantly outside a school with a variable speed limit enforced by a Police Officer, 20MPH for the school opening/ closing times 30MPH during normal times of the day - not sure if this was ever fully checked out and verified though - Mike |

Mobile variables were a system error indicator way back, why Pmobile variables got in, no idea.
I emailed earlier today about this and I am waiting a reply.

...and the last time there was a "variable" entry in the pMobile files (unverified reports from members, remember...) it was subsequently verified and reclassified properly as a 50mph mobile in the next release. |

Maybe you don't, but you asked a question that required someone else to go and LOOK FOR that information for you.
The least you could do is say thank you, rather than being rude.... |

This wasn't required at all, the reply did not actually answer the question.
Where would he look for information that far back anyway? |

It showed that it wasn't a problem with THIS database version. Additional replies gave further information.
How is calling someone a "trainspotter" going to enthuse them to give any more help?

By looking through his backups?
By looking through previous saved downloads?
Either would do. |

I agree, wholeheartedly, and being part of the team which contacted Richard Branson and helped keep said loco in the UK, I found that comment quite insulting.
We can quite easily manage without GPS, but once we've lost our heritage we'll never be able to get it back. _________________ Andy
