|
|
Since I have installed more POI's on my S90 my TMC will not get a signal, or it may have been when I tried putting in the TMC aerial, for some reason they have used the same socket as the mic and I plugged it into the wrong socket, perhaps I have caused a problem, but since then, my TMC will not get a signal.
Has anyone else had problems with the TMC before? |

Is there any indication that it is tuning? I wonder if the limit on the number of POIs is linked here, did you install a lot? I ask as it cold be an issue linked to the processor being overloaded? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I don't think I installed a lot of POI's was only some fast food ones and truckers cafes :-)
I will go into the menu and untick all the POI's later on today and see if it starts to work, so damn annoying as I thought it was a very good bit of software to have on the unit |

I disabled all of my POI's apart from the speed cameras and the TMC started working fine, these units seem to have a lot of bugs if you ask me :-( |

Don't think the S Series have a lot of bugs, but they have a very serious one which is POI related, and causes system shut-downs, slow operation, freezes and - if you say - TMC issues
New edition of the software available in around 40 days or so
...will wait and see! |

after I had disabled the poi's, it ran all day without shutting down, and the more poi's you have the more it shuts down, be glad when that software is ready, I use poi's a lot |

That is exactly what I have found - it is the most reliable of units I've used. When NO custom POIs are added
Add just some and problems start arrising
Go over the limit and the unit breaks down
The new software includes something called NavConnect which is via either Bluetooth and your mobile or NavDesk and your internet connection. It's main feature is live POIs via the web
Surely then it is right to expect the POI issue to be resolved with this update as its main update is just that. POIs! |

mmmmmmm that sound very interesting! so it will connect to net via the bluetooth on your phone? if so, a little bit more software, then you could have a proper web connection and be able to surf the web? sounds very logical and a very good selling point.
I have a Nokia N810 which does the same thing, it also has full sat nav built in, but I have not used that part yet as I like my Navman for that, but it does come with a windscreen mount in the box
It's a great bit of kit tho, its wireless and it will connect to the net via bluetooth on mobile phone. |
