Hi all,
Please can you help?
I used my TomTom navigator 6 to get me home last night - worked fine!
Then i stupidly installed Google Navigator on my XDA Orbit, i thought it was a bit rubbish so i uninstalled it almost straight away.
I then went to use my good ole trusted TomTom 6 again this morning but it kept saying No GPS device.
So i thought somehow the Google navigator changed a setting so i went to configure the GPS and select the Other NMEA device. 9600 baud, BUT then in the port options there is no COM4 port !
I have tried to uninstall Tomtom 6 and back again and still no avail.
Also tried a reset on the little hole on the left nothing?
Tried rebooting too..
Any ideas?
Also running WM6 !
Thanks!

Have a look in Start/ settings_System Tab/ External GPS make sure program port Is set to Com4 and hardware port is set to None, Baud to either 4800 or 9600 and manage GPS automatically should be selected, then try starting TomTom and configure the GPS settings within the application - Mike |

Hi Mike,
Thanks, i expect that would have worked as well.
About 4pm my itchy finger got the better of me and i did a clean storage and started from scratch again!
All working now anyways, BUT will remember that definately next time should it happen again.
Many thanks as always!

It’s at times like this you wish you had a full back up to re-install everything at the push of a single button, if you don't have this I would have a good look at Sprite Backup.
Whilst WM6 has its persistent storage so it doesn't loose its memory when the battery goes flat, it is times like this when backups that can auto install on the device are invaluable - Mike |

Thankfully it doesnt take too long to reinstall everything, and all was not lost in vain as it also solved 2 other problems i had!
I dont use the appointments in the calender that much, but that is something that does need to be re-written.
Is there a file i can copy/then paste back in if this ever needs to be done again which contains this info?
Likewise my wifi / wap settings, i thought it may have been the connmgr folder, but the one i had backed up didnt work when i did the switch.
Thanks!
