I downloaded all three levels of database. I installed gatso and specs cameras broken down by speed - they all work fine. I also installed a single (ov2 plus BMP files) for all UK mobile camers combined. It's on TomTom OK alongside all the others but no POI category is visibile when I try to set the warning when near stuff for mobiles. What's wrong - I am well confused 'cos all other bits work fine and combined mobiles should be no different surely. I tried deleting one of my other customised POI categories just in case I was up against max limits but that made no difference. HELP !!!

How many ov2 files have you actually got in the map folder? - also what version of software is your device running as this can make a considerable difference to the problem - Mike

AND just what have you done? It sounds like you are trying to mix and match - speed zoned files for some camera types, single file without speeds for others.

I wonder why? The speed zoned download includes all types, including mobiles, each with speeds, so I don't know why you'd want to have the speed for gatsos, but not for mobiles? Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising, just gasping to know why you care about the speed limit for Gatsos and Specs, but don't care what it is for mobiles? Confused

Silly me Embarassed

I worked out what I did wrong - GO510 comes with UK full maps but only outline maps for rest of Europe. I purchased detailed French map for hols last year. I forgot that I had switched to France maps last week to do some advance holiday planning. So I was looking at French POIs without realising it and, guess what, the mobile cameras had not been copied to there. I switched back to UK maps and my cameras are all there now just as they should be.

To answer the mix and match issue - yes I am doing that intentionally. I am experimenting to get the best balance of information - most mobiles are "not there" anyway so knowing what speed they were is not too important. I am trying with a distinct early warning for all mobiles to give me plenty of time to deduce speed limit and react accordingly (if needed).

The install instructions on PGPS web site suggested the mix and match idea and I took it from there.

Seems OK for me so far

I suppose you feel a bit of a plonker now.

But actually I'd like to congratulate you. Firstly for having the bottle to come back and tell us the embarrassing error - I suspect pilot error is more frequent than we often see and that many such guys simply keep their heads down when they find it, so good on you for showing it can happen. Secondly a good example of someone not just blindly using the bog standard database.

As a by-product of your story, I was just thinking last night that when I first started using the camera database here, it was very bare bones compared with today. How it has improved almost beyond recognition in the last three years - congratulations to the guy who does an awful lot of development work behind the scenes - step forward MaFt. Not Worthy Thumbs Up

I'm sure you realise this but just for the record, this site also does cameras in France (download the relevant EUR sets and put them in your "France" map folder).

You sound like you have worked it out but just in case others come by with similar issues, this can be achieved by using the "Speed Zoned" sets for Gatso and Specs then using the "Consolidated by type" set for mobiles.

This means you can set individual settings for the fixed cameras but just have one category with all the mobile locations in it (with a large enough warning distance).
