|
|
I have the latest western europe map purchased from TomTom.
On my old Axim X5 it installed and worked fine until the GPS receiver stopped working, thats another post/problem.
I have now got an Axim X51V, have installed TomTom OK. But every attempt at installing the Western Europe map on this PDA does not work. The install process completes OK then TTN5 cannot see the map, it only shows the old Great Britain map that is on the SD card anyway.
Can anybody suggest something I can do to make TTN5 on my X51V see the western europe map that I can see is on the SD card but not being seen by TTN5.
Thanks in advance. |

IIRC there were two versions of this map one for vs5 software and the other for vs6, if you have the later I am not too surprised the vs 5 software cannot see it - have you tried installing TT Home and see what it makes of the map / download and install an application - Mike |

As mentioned in my post it worked OK on my X5, it is the map for TTN5.
TTN5.2 is installed on the X51V and can pickup the Great Britain map that is on the SD.
The X5 runs PPC 2002. The X51V runs WM5, do I need the version 6 for the X51V opsys? |

After looking around TomTom site I have noticed tha Axim X51V is supported on TTN6. So looks like I need to upgrade from my TTN5 to TTN6, or leave TTN5 on my old X5 and purchase TTN6 for the X51V.
Question: Whats the best GPS receiver for the X51V? a bluetooth one maybe!
Thanks to those that replied. |

Got it there and it is now being detected by TTN5 on my X51V. Installs did not work, but a PC (X5 card backup) to X51V SD card copy did work OK. I can now switch maps etc...
Just need to get my GPS CF card working now!!!
Any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks |

Hm, someone else with the same problem Here - the x51v isn't the easiest of devices to get working with CF GPS - what device is it you are trying to use as some do work, most seem to give problems - Mike |
