I have installed a second map folder on my TomTom One and have copied all the Pocketgpsworld speed camera warnings into the folder. To save setting all the sounds up again can anyone tell me which file these are stored to and can I just copy it into the new map folder?
Thanks. |

Hi if you are using version 6 software you may well be using the .ogg file method for your warning sounds, if so copy all the .ogg files related to pgpws cameras into your new map folder, you will however have to go to warn when near poi to set up your voice warning distances again,I hope I have explained this adequatley enough... :D _________________ Neil.......ttgo..Mio p550...2.8 lwb exeed pajero. where cant I go.. |

That is the right type of file for the cameras but are you using .ogg files for your voice warning prompts? _________________ Neil.......ttgo..Mio p550...2.8 lwb exeed pajero. where cant I go.. |

Yes, I was going to do that. However when I tried to start the TomTom it kept crashing. I discovered that the map folders and several other items had deleted themselves! Thank god I backed it up yesterday. I will sort this out first them let you know how I got on. In the meantime if you have any ideas on this one!
Cheers.

My SD card is now okay. I have installed the ogg files into the map folder, do they over ride the data.chk file for sound? |

Yes, as it says in the instructions, if you have the files:
1. in the right place (the map folder), and
2. with the right name (the same as the POI they refer to but with .ogg instead of .ov2 at the end)
then those files WILL get used and at no point during the configuration should you be asked to choose a warning sound from data.chk (unless you have a TomTom 910 where there is another menu step).
If you are prompted to select a warning sound there is something wrong with your added files.
It makes sense to put back the original data.chk for your software version (i.e. the one that came with it when you downloaded it or bought the machine if you haven't updated the software) so that you can use the default noises for other things. |
