Fair point Darren, you are lucky you have the ability to edit your posts as you have done whilst i posted my previous reply.
As said many times an edit facility is a good thing.
I took your original post to be having a swipe. |

TVR, I am not trying to defend TomTom, more to question Halfords as I have a strong suspicion they are not telling you the whole truth here. If you want I'd be happy to ask TomTom for a response.
GO-GO-910, no I wasn't having a swipe, TomTom get no special treatment here I assure you. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I'd like to clarify a few points re TomTom faults and repairs. The loss of sound on ONE is not a common fault, but it's not rare either. TomTom do not repair the units themselves. There is an outfit in Scotland which does the UK repairs and it's not the first time they cause problems for TT customers, but to be fair these problems are not very common. |

Update 20/3/07:-
Received phonecall from Halfords to say that the post office (?) have accepted liability for the "loss" of the tomtom and a replacement unit is being sent to the store for me. I'll be contacted when the replacement arrives.
So I'll be registering my TT1V2 as stolen then...
The SAGA CONTINUES.
Scores on the doors:-
Halfords: 8O
TomTom:
Post Office:
Didn't theft from the Royal mail used to be treated a High Treason? BRING BACK HANGING!

Well I Finally have a brand new TT One (Version 4!?). I collected it today 22/3/07.
No Compensation. Only what my comsumer rights say I had anyway.
Moral of the story: Dont accept a repair. INSIST ON YOUR COMSUMER RIGHTS AND GET A NEW UNIT. 30 day is trash. Unfair terms and Conditions act? Hmmmm....
Final Scores:-
Halfords: 8O
Post Office:
TomTom:
If this one fails I'll buy navman or garmin. Not TomTom. |
