Morning Zogs, tried as you suggested, went into program files 2 files , one file tomtom home and one file tomtom desktop, tried both neither works, having then opened up tomtom home panel. I downloaded three maps from the link given in my previous post ( assistance req tomtom one ver2 ) for additional map colours. These are now on my desktop, I thought it would be a copy and paste job into a certain file , but I cant find a file for map colours Doh!!
Also tried connecting tom and opening up on my computer cant find anything on there relating to map colours. No instructions on the site where I got them from either?
So, sorry zogs, but can you be a little bit more specific.
Apologies for being a dumba**, tell you one thing, this site is brill for learning new computer skills, just having to do all this copying and pasting etc etc...
Thanks again...Dil

ooook, checked out another forum re map colours, told me to put a new file on the tomtom called schemes...done, put the maps into this folder...done. turn off tomtom and re-start, go into settings...change map colours...look for plug in....found it, choose map and select.
Now will wait till I go to work and see if it is actually on there....
Will let you know if it worked ....

Well done Dilcymro
I would take with a pinch of salt any sugestion that 'Home' is the simplest way to do ANYTHING!
I hope you didn't really put the map into the schemes folder, though!
Just the colour scheme .clr files go in there.
No need to wait until you actually drive anywhere to check it out. just set up a route in "A-B forward planning" and then get it to run the route as a demo.
Incidently, if you can find "gbnew.clr", that is my favourite colour scheme. |

Cheers andy, sorry I did mean putting the map colours in the schemes folder and the colour you mentioned is on my desktop, so I will put that one in also. The site I checked out was this one
http://www.colorschemeeditor.com/index.php?p=home&lang=EN
and just had a look on the forum pages on there as I knew someone would ask how to install new colour files..
I have also installed the Liz whittaker voice to try out.
Thanks again....Dil _________________ ***************************************

Sorry, didnt want to cause any bother, problem with using tomtom home though is.....basically I dont know how to install things with it, till I find my "way" round the the thing.
Instructions I can follow as in step by step guides.
Wish I could find a decent map colour though, green in the countryside, blue near water...oh well, will keep looking.
Thanks to you all again for all your help though....Dil _________________ ***************************************
