How to do custom POIs?

Hi
If I would like to add a special icon to all Shell stations in Sweden I understand that I have to do a custom POI some how.

Is it possible to extract all Shell stations form a Swedish map with a tool or something? Or how do I do?

You should rather collect them manually. Whatever data source you use will be outdated (for example Maps & Streets, Autoroute etc). The power of custom POIs is that they come from real users in the real world.

What I meen here is how to make the POI package. Does it need to be compiled or something? Is there any good guides on how to make them?
