Dear All,
I am about to purchase a GPS system and would be grateful for guidance. I need to input between 1 and 2 thousand POI's (car garages) so that I can see which dealerships I am near as I drive around the Country. Which system would any of you recommend I purchase bearing in mind the number of POI's which may grow, and also ease of putting them in... This will not be a gradually increasing operation, it needs to be done as soon as I have the system. I have read "how to make a POI" which seems clear enough but highly laborious.
Thanks in advance.

at the moment id go with tt6 as you can use 100 poi catagories also if you use make ov2 it will convert a .csv list of garages to .ov2 format with will then work as a poi in the tomtom application _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Should have put this in the original post... but is it possible to enter a POI by just putting in the full postcode or do they all have to have the co-ordinates fed in that will make the process very time consuming?
Thanks again. |

If you settle for a TomTom, make a note of THIS site.
Search Car Dealers Generate POI's and save .asc file. Download the file coverter, drag and drop .asc file onto convertor icon which gives you .ov2 and .bmp files both of which you copy to your GB map. All you have to do then is Navigate to - POI - Car Dealers. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

The AXE File can then be converted by a Program like POIConverter to an OV2 File.
Don't rely on the accuracy of the Postcodes and be aware that Postcodes come and go.;)
Cross checking is time consuming. I know from experience. _________________ Richard
