Has anyone got any advice on using my i3 in Oz? I am moving out there soon with my Australian wife and have recently bought my first ever sat nav. I love the little thing and don't want to leave it behind but I am clueless as to how or even if I can get maps for Western Australia on to it and what the cost could be. I have read some other forums about US use and some advice seems to be buy one out there????
Any advice gratefully accepted.
Thanks in advance. |

Garmin provide the following suggest you get it in Oz it will be cheaper
http://shop.garmin.com/accessory.jsp?sku=010%2D10763%2D00 it may be better to sell your I3 in the uk and get a replacement over there check that they are available first |

Googling Garmin Australia gives some retailers in Oz, showing price of i3 around A$600! 8O e.g.

I would suggest when you quote you do it correctly my exact words were
it may be better to sell your I3 in the uk and get a replacement over there check that they are available first the original poster is more than capable of finding out the pro's or con's of buying / selling than i am regarding Australia. |

Peace please guys and Gals.
Somebody with more experience of OZ life is welcome to correct me. My cousin holidayed here last Autumn and I ferried her and her partner around usin my I3 to ind the way, her son who I spoke to earlier was very very impressed that I had a Sat Nav.
In car set ups seem the thing in OZ on premium models I understand from him, he works for a multi national and rates Australian pay rates as beeing generally lower than here, a basic nuvi 310 is about £450 in OZ today he said.
So if he is righty about pay that is why he thinks I'm rich
It seems that if you coul get full oz mapping here you could buy a few sat navs and make a bob or two in OZ. |

I'm very sorry, Timber. I obviously deleted more than I intended to. I wasn't suggesting you were telling tosborne what to do. I was simply responding to your suggestion that he should find out if the i3 is available in Australia, and was interested to see if it was, and at what price.
I'll try to remember to always quote your posts in full in future, including all formatting - and then get complaints about excessively long posts. Oh well, they do say a woman's place is in the wrong! _________________ Anita

No No Anita, don't think like that.
I've slept with a the same woman for over 28 years, she has had her evil way with my body and I would never say she was wrong to do that :D |
