I've browse the forum to see if there is anyone having similar problem as me but there is non.
The sound on my destinator 3 stopped working ie. no voice prompts and alerts. I've set the settings to 'verbal and visual alert', voice is set to default( there is only default). I've also made sure that my pda is not muted and sound works in other applications.. i've checked the voices folder and the voice files are present. Is there any other settings within destinator that needs to be changed?
thanks in advance for any reply.. |

have you tried soft reseting your pda ?
I had a problem with the voices on mine the other morning
the voice prompts were really slow "turrrrrnnnn leeffftttt"
i hit the soft reset button, restarted the pda and after that all seems to have been fine _________________ www.road-racer.co.uk

Miggy,
Check your DestinatorVoiceManeuvers file. If this has been corrupted this could be causing your problems as it controls the verbal commands.
The easiest way would be to reinstall the file. If you don't have a copy drop me a pm and I'll email.
(before someone shouts about copyright as that seems to be the topic at the moment. It's not as the file I'll send has been edited and contains additional information which is mine.)

miggy,
I had the same problem with mine a few months back (no sound from destinator at all). I think it happened after a soft reset but i am not 100% sure on that........anyway after a lot of head scratching and playing with the menus I discovered that the answer lay in the Sounds & Notifications section. This can be accessed by clicking 'Start' followed by 'Settings' and clicking the 'Sounds & Notifications' icon. The check-box beside 'Programs' should be ticked, mine wasn't and changing this sorted the problem.
Hope this helps.
