Im presuming you can't add them to the pre-installed POI's, but what about custom POI's that are available for d/load, and ones that you create yourself ?

Sorry if the answer is out there, but my initial search couldn't come up with anything..

Hi LDR,

You can't do it via the TT GO, you'll need to edit the .OV2 with an editor like POIConvertor or POIEdit on your PC.

Please see this thread for futher details.

Ive just discovered that for some reason my Samsung d500 wont dial the numbers stored in the POI's, it comes up with a "not allowed" error msg on the phones screen, however I think it maybe down to the "-" inbetween all the numbers, as I opened up POIedit, removed the "-", resaved the file, and it then dialed the number straight away..does this mean I am going to have to edit out the "-" from every POI to get the d500 to work with the tomtom..cause that seems like a lot of work..

Hi LDR,

I'm afraid that I don't have a TomTom GO (I have TomTom Navigator 5 on a PocketPC) so I can't dial the numbers from the POI anyway.

Hopefully a fellow GO user will be able to advise you! Thumbs Up

Regards,

So..there's nobody else here using a Samsung d500 with a TomTomGo 500/700 that gets this problem ? I find that hard to believe as the Samsung d500 is a very popular phone...

I do not have any experience of any of the equipment/software you use.

However I have used a tool called dumpov2 to extract the contents of an OV2 file to a format readable in a speadsheet, and then after a few changes loaded it into CoPilot 5.

Although I have not used it, there is also a program make0v2, which I believe can create an OV2 file from a spreadsheet file (to which you presumably make the changes to the data first)

The link for both programs is:

There may well be better alternatives, but as I said, I am no expert here.

you could always use POIedit export it to CSV load in notepad and do a Fine Replace on "-" to "". Then you can load ti back and resave to OV2
