|
|
Hi all,
Iīm new to this so, please, bare with me...
Iīve done a search but I canīt find the solution.
Installed tomtom5 on my hx2410....all is fine..Iīm going through the setup-steps on my IPAQ...chosing time, voice and so on....but when it comes to maps, tomtom tells me that it canīt find any maps.
I have installed my map on my CF-card...the app itself in the main memory...
I must be doing something wrong here...
Plz, any ideas...?
Thanks.

Try using ActiveSync to put the map on to your storage card while in your PDA and not via a card reader, will take some time, 25-35 mins but should work. Some card readers put the data on the card but its not in a format that the PDA likes and hence cannot be read. |

Thanks for your reply...
I now tried to install the map to my PC and from there dragīnīdrop to the CF-card using AvtiveSync Explorer. No good...
Tried to install the map directly to the CF-card. No good.
Tried to install the map directly to the SD-card...still no good.
Will TT find the map wherever I put the map? Wether its on the CF- or SD-card..?
Read in another post about " NO attributes set at all" on the files...
Will try this as well and see...
I must be doing totally stupid here...

Try using file explorer to get the files to the PDA CF card- the PDA must be docked and Active Sync running, select the files you need (just highlight them with the mouse) then right click and select "Copy" then in file explorer (on the PC) select the Mobile device and open up the CF card, right click in the cf card folder and select "Paste" - Drag and drop to from the PDA doesn't work very well, this method works everytime - Mike |

Sorry guys...I just canīt get it to work....
This is what I did.
On the PC: Checked the folder "Scandinavia-Map" and un-checked all attributes.
With Active-Sync running, I copied the folder on the PC and pasted it into the CF-card-folder on my PDA, using the FileExplorer on the PC.
Starting up TT, selecting language, time-settings, voicepromt...then....back to the "No maps found".
Clueless...

...a question....
TT is able to "see" the map-folder wherever I put it...?
If I put it in the root of the CF or SD....that should be no problems...?
I donīt have to "tell" TT where it is...?
Oh my...I guess its back to paper-maps, then... :D |

It sees it in both the SD and CF cards, and you do not need to tell it where you have put it. You shouldn't need to mess with Attributes either...
Do you have the CD, have you tried just re-installing the map again from the CD onto the CF/CD card using with your PDA connected to the PC with Activesync?

Hi Steve,
the first thing I did was installing from the setup-program directly to the CF-card of the PDA. Didnīt work...
After that I did it again about a 1000 times.
Went home for lunch and took the CD with me to work. Now I installed the map-folder on my PC and doing the copy/paste-thing...w. ActiveSync going...Same thing...
So much for buying on Ebay...or similar, I should say...
well...thanks for your help guys. Seems I canīt get it to work anyhow...

Ah. E-bay. Was it a pirate copy then? That is probably why. Probably an issue with activation.

there are a lot of pirate copied floting around on ebay at the moment if your going to get any nav software get it from a proper reseller not off ebay (personal veiw) too many people have ripped off buy getting what they think legal software only to find its a crack copy and loads of faults i cant emphise this enough go to a known reseller yes you will pay more for a copy but you will at least have a fully functioning version _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone.
