Hi, I have just bought a tomtom navigator 5 pda setup. Currently it is perfect with the uk mapping. However I travel to Paris next month and can't find a map of france compatible with navigator 5. My friend has the go700 set up and is under the impression he can download the maps I require to an SD card. Is this possible? If so how? and if not how can I get a map of france for my set up??
Many thanks
Tomo |

I meant if I was to purchase new mapping. I can only find mapping for the tomtom go series not the navigator. Being new to this I am unsure of where to buy navigator software. What mapping is actually compatible with TTN5? |

Although the European street level maps have been included in the upgrade pack, I don't think they have yet been released for retail purchase

Congrats on the purchase.
Now welcome to the world of tomtom - where they "give" away street level maps of the whole of Europe (with notable Irish exceptions) with upgrades but are unable or unwilling to sell them to you even though they have been available for more than a month!
You could call them and ask when they will be available - a common reply appears to be "next friday" for most requests or you could just stand in front of a brick wall and pull your head back and forth - as it will produce the same result.
you can download some maps - but these are restricted to small city areas (Paris is available I think) see the plus portion of the tomtom website. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

I've got the same problem, purchased Navigator 5 complete with the map of the UK but can't buy the maps of europe.
The TomTom site tell me they will be available end of July 2005. If you own Navigator 3 you can buy the upgrade to 5 for 59 euros including all the maps of Europe, don't understand why as a new Navigator 5 customer I can't buy a product which has been on sell for some time.
Unless you can tell me different.... |

I agree, it is not exactly welcoming me to the world of tomtom as stated in one of the above messages
I hope they sort it out soon as I am desperate, the trip to france was one of the main reasons for the purcase!!!!!
Is there a way of buying the older maps and and using them ton nav5? I don't mind them being slightly out of date as long as they are not too expensive.
Iwas under the impression that the mapping software was compatible across the range and was told I could buy the Go SD cards but I don't want to shell out for it and it not work!! |
