|
|
I have just bought a IPAQ 2110, with Bluetooth TomTom Navigator 5. As I thought it had all the Major Roads in Europe - thats what is said on the advert!
However I cannot find them, when I tried to download them I can only get an area or city.
The Tom Tom Nav 5 upgrade on the website seems to read that you can upgrade and get all the maps I need - but it wont let me upgrade as I already have Nav 5 (I presume)!
I am driving from england to Prague at the end of the month and this was the main reason for getting Nav 5 - it doesnt seem to do what it says on the tin!
Any suggestions please? Thanks |

where did you buy Navigator 5 from? Did it come with CDs? If so, insert CD1 and select "Add maps" _________________ Lutz

I bought it from total gps, there is an installation CD in the box but no more maps on it, when I activated the system the GB map appeared. I have checked the switch maps icon, but there is only GB in there. |

Sounds like you have 6 CD's missing!!
I just got the "upgrade" pack, it includes one application CD, and 6 CD's with Maps... |

The retail version does not come with the Europe maps like the upgrade does. Unfortunately there is no word on when those maps will be available. |

Thanks for the info - would I be able to uninstall the Navigator 5 and then try to get Nav 3 and install that, then get the upgrade?
Or are there Europe maps available from somewhere else that would instal on nav 5? |

Hi Kizzy,
I think you will struggle to find any true TomTom Navigator 3 versions still available. Beware of eBay as many people will have already Upgraded their versions from Nav 3 to 5 and then will be selling the Nav 3.
Anyway would you be looking to pay an more to get Nav 3 and then pay for an upgrade as well? 8O
Only TomTom maps will work with TomTom products.
There is no official date for the launch of Navigator 5 Maps of Western Europe, however we will be expecting them soon after the Software only hits the shelves. I would hazard an educated guess at end of July.
Might be worthwhile waiting until then (unless you need them before hand)
