Hi all.
I've been reading this forum for a few weeks as a very satisfied user of TTN3 running on a HP Ipaq 1940. I am employed as a courier so the TTN3 is an essential part of my job.
However following a delivery to the Lakeside Shopping centre today I parked the van in one of the car parks whilst I went to get a sandwich, when I returned the van had been broken into and my satnav gone.
Just spent the last hour or so on the phone to the police and insurance company (luckily I have personal effects cover so it is covered) and the insurance company will be in touch next week regarding a replacement.
I have ordered TTN5 update and so wish to stick with Tom Tom running on a Pocket PC. The stolen PPC was a HP Ipaq h1940 running bluetooth which I rated highly.
Which pocket PC would any of you wise people recommend as a replacement - bearing in mind the insurance company will wish to supply a similar model.
Moral of this story - dont leave your van at Lakeside - mine was the second today, and even though I had locked the PPC in the glove box the cradle was still on show. I think even without this the van would have been robbed as the load area doors had also been forced.
Thanks for listening

Oh man, sorry to hear this. {Makes note to avoid Lakeside, if its city is determined}
I have my Holux 236 installed under the defrost grille. Has a clear view of the sky, is hidden, and is powered on all the time with the car's battery.
I have a 4700, but that may be overkill. It is a dark color and so will blend into the instrument cluster, where I will install it over the car's tachometer. Plan landscape mode, although haven't found a suitable cradle yet. |

Lakeside is in the TT5 Shopping Centre POI File if you want to know where to avoid. |

Hm, remember, I live in The Colonies. From the spelling of Centre, I infer Lakeside's in Old Blighty. |
