From what I have read, anyone who has paid for the recent upgrade to the UK maps will now have MRWE included on the SD card as well as UK street level mapping. Can anyone advise just how much detail there is to this aspect of the mapping especially in relation to France. For instance apart from the Auto Routes what else is included, does it navigate A and B type roads and show towns etc. Even if the UK maps are a rip off it might be worth it to me if my 300 can navigate me around France in a few weeks time. I have no faith whatsoever that TomTom will come up with the latest maps by the end of June - well not June 2005 anyway. |

Just planned a route from Birmingham to Paris with my TTGO Classic with the upgraded maps- GB plus maps v571
Zoomed in on the map at Paris the detail is good. It shows the road names ie Rue Du Renard ,Rue De Turbigo. Looking at the text instructions it shows the road numders ie D915, N410 and with road names beside some of the numbers.
If you post the name of a town you are going to I will try to find it _________________ Ray

Thanks for that info rayflan. I will be touring the Dorgodne, try Loubressac, Rocamdour, and Salat. I take it you are using just the Major Roads of Western Europe? |

No I'm using the Great Britain Plus maps v571 - I upgraded the original maps which came with my ttgo classic.
Found Loubressac shows as bieng on the D673
Found Rocamdour also on the D673
Unable to find Salat but found Mazeres-Sur-Salat and Salies-Du-Salat ??
Just used navigate to city centre
Will try some screen shots of the map detail and post a link so you can take a look[/quote] _________________ Ray

Posted some screen shots at www.rayflanagan.co.uk/maps.html
Browsed around the map, major city have more detail than smaller towns
Paris, Madrid have street names where as Loubressac is shown on the map with a major road if this makes any sense. _________________ Ray

Thanks for that rayflan, very decent of you. Would I be right in thinking that the maps you are using are the same ones albeit with a slightly different number etc. that people have been paying around £60 for, whether it be for the GO Classic or GO 300 i.e. GB with full postcodes plus MRE on one card? |
