|
|
Have just been on to the Garmin website to register my i3, was asked for the registration code which it says is on a sheet of paper in the i3 box except there was no paper in the box just a colour quick guide manual and a black and white warranty booklet.
Can I use the number on the bottom of the box with the 'Rev. B' next to it? or the number on the otherside? or for that matter the one above the bar code??or the actual bar code???? 8O
Also I bought my i3 at the beginning of October, does it matter if I only just register now.
Lastly does registering now mean I can get a free map update? I'm sure I read something about that in these forums somewhere??
Any feedback apreciated!(Well as long as its relevant anyway) :D |

So what happens, I guess you have to leave a number off but which one. I
It has to be the first or last number. Does anyone know |

CONTACT TECHNICAL SUPPORT VIA THE GARMIN WEBSITE, GIVE THEM YOUR I3 SERIAL NUMBER AND EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT YOU HAVE TRIED TO REGISTER YOUR I3 BUT DON'T HAVE A REGISTRATION CODE. THEY WILL EMAIL YOU AND GIVE YOU THE CODE NUMBER. |

But it seems that you don't need to bother as Garmin have said to various people that everyone will be entitled to updated maps. |

Tried this with Technical Support, and got the reply back from our friend there that there was no advantage or reason to register! |

So there is no point in registering at all.
I thought you needed to register to validate the warranty?? |

strange one this...if you have proof of purchase then the retailer you brought the i3 from is responsible for the 12 months warranty. many people have contacted garmin re their registration problem and have had the answer back that you dont need to register even for the v8 map upgrade...i would leave the registration and use the retailers warranty if any thing goes wrong.. _________________ *************************** |
