|
|
The dreaded message is back "There is something wrong with your SIM card Please contact TomTom customer support" Error Code 1008.
This error came in the early v9s and was fixed in 9.058 but is now back again.
The first download I did of this was also corrupted and would not boot. _________________ Drivelux |

If I install on SD card, and was to get this error, would the old version "fix" it, or is it a one-way trip to problemville? |

Reverted to 9.058 and Live Services work again. _________________ Drivelux |

Just couldn't help myself and I concur with Mr T's experience - error 2008 with new navcore (TT940).

Exactly the same on my 540 so I'm guessing it's all x40's PLUS auto switch-on has stopped on my 550/9.400 |

Yep "error code 1008" for me too on my 940 Live.
Looks like its back to 8.371 for me (again) that's neither 9.058 or 9.40 that have worked for me. _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

just updated my 540 and bingo the same crap as the last update error 1008, it's about time tomtom pulled there finger out of there arse and sorted these problems out, on the last up date i called tomtom then spent about 1hour trying to sort it out , they even had me remove every bit of tomtom software from my unit then rebuilt it from scratch and still got the same error 1008. |

I've raised an error report on this forced update. Might as well start a storm of problem devices at TomTom support to make something happen. Heck, maybe they'll give the iPhone users some extra time on their live services to compensate us. (Yes, I know) |

make a note of when you lost and get back your live services, then call tomtom and have a good rant at them , i did and they gave me 3 months free live services, last time this happened. |

TomTom know what this error is as they released 9.058 to work around it, so why they have put it back in again is beyond belief. From memory it was related to the early version of the SIM cards in the X40 range. _________________ Drivelux |

lets hope its a quick fix.
Surely they know how to sort it from the last time.
even if we down grade then you can't get any other updates without 9.40 |

Indeed, a fix is being worked on as I write. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I hope it is a new fix rather than the work around for this problem added in 9.058 which causes a 2-5 minute delay in connecting to Live Services. _________________ Drivelux |

How the heck can TomTom get it so wrong so often? Don't they do any testing or checking? |
