I've had the reciever working for about a week and a half, i switched it off for a couple of days and since i've switched it back on i can't get a fix, in either ST or XT modes, i've been at it all day, tried it in the garden for atleast half an hour. its been on my window sill and nothing. i'm starting to get worried, i've taken the battery out a couple of times and fully charged it but the middle light is still red, it won't fix. the only other thing i can think of is to try it again tomorrow, could conitions have an affect on getting a fix? the sky has been clear all day, but its been hot.
please help i'm really concerned about the reciever.
Thanks

I'm about ready to give up, i'm going to take a drive into the country to try and get a fix there, i've tried absolutley everyhitng, i've searched this forum and it sems like other poeple are havimng the same problem as me. i really don't want to send it back as it has been working so well upto now.
I cant get winfast navigator to work to diagnose the problem. tomtom is setup on com8 for bluetooth when i try to connect a message comes up saying it can't open com8.
i've switched from XT to ST. left the battery out for half a day then charged it to full and it still wont work, just get orange sat led. if trying a fix from the middle of nowhere doesnt work i dont know what to do next.
Please help

The inability to use WinFast Navigator is, I suspect, because you've installed a recent version of TomTom GPS (such as that included in Navigator 3).
You can most likely remove the interfering component (but still leave TomTom GPS installed) by going to the Start Menu, Settings, System tab, Remove Programs, selecting TomTom ~ GPS and pressing Remove. You'll then be asked to press OK and the Pocket PC will soft reset.
It takes a second removal to uninstall TomTom GPS.
It sounds like your Clip On may have died.

i've got winfast navigator working it asks me for a pass code to the device which i've put in
i've got it set on Com8 and NMEA 4800 baud. and nothing is coming up, the bluetooth light is flickering on the reciever but no data.
still had no luck with the sat lock, i'm going to drain the battery to try and get it back to a factory fix by losing the additional battery storage.
after that i'm giving up hope. its so stupid though i haven't even done anything to it, so i've no idea.
thank you for your reply |

navigator is just sitting on connect btw, so i don't know whether tha means anything to you, i've tried both protocols and all baud rates and no data will come up. |
