Using 730.
I want to plan a route to a destination in Belgium. What is the best way to do it to ensure it takes me to the channel tunnel and then copes with popping out the other side?
thanks |

Simpler to route to the Channel Tunnel interchange at Ashford and then create a new route from the Calais side.
You can calculate distances by doing an A-B route HOME to Ashford and Calais to Belgium Terminus.
Although I'm sure it defaults to the Chunnel so you may be able to route to your ultimate destination in one go? _________________ Darren Griffin |

My experience is that TT chooses the tunnel from SE england by default if set to quickest route. DONT, repeat DONT attempt to follow TT when joining or leaving the train though! (or at Dover & calais) The calculated journey time is suprisingly accurate (under normal circumstances. Even if if you ignore it and take the ferry it reroutes in France as quickly as it does in the UK. _________________ Go740L App 9.510 Europe 985.8155

I pop over to belgium on a regular basis, and i use the ferry not the tunnel.
Darren you are correct in that the default for tomtom is the chunnel. _________________ iPhone4 IOS 4.3.3

Hi ben_e71
Yes, The Tomtom uses the Channel Tunnel by default. If you plan your trip and then go to Details/ Browse map of route you will see that it does so. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

If you play the demo at 100% when you leave Folkestone to Calias ( or vice versa ) , it is almost exactly spot on. You come up out the tunnel about 2 mins after you have hit dry land.
Try it next time you go !

Hi
I am using CoPilot 7 and when I create a trip in Central it automatically takes me through the tunnel but I want to take the ferry. Does anyone know how to change this so it is routed from Dover to Calias?
Thanks |

Can't you just create a route to the Dover Ferry and then repeat on the French side to your destination? _________________ Darren Griffin |

You say don't follow the instructions given by the TT when you leave the train, I've always found that they work perfectly, but I do have the warning activated. |
