|
|
I have a Kenwood DNX 7200 in Car entertainment system. It advises to update the speed cameras using the Garmin webupdater but this seems to fail to detect my sd card, it did detect it originally but it won't now. The card is working fine and is detected within windows.
I have purchased a one year subscription to Pocket GPS.
Does anyone have one of these units and can advise on the correct procedure to update the unit.
Thanks in advance

If I remember correctly you need to put the sd card in and then switch to NAV mode and it should read the poi's in.
Hope that helps

I haven't got your Sat Nav, But on mine, you have to go into preferences, and enable them, and set up an audible warning, do you need to do this on yours? _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

With regard the above two posts I've tried everything, It does nothing when you put the SD card in & there's no option under NAV to install or look for a card, The instruction manual for this unit is terrible, all it tells you is where the SD slot is & then to follow the instructions but there arn't any. |

I've just done a update on mine and it works fine.
grab the POI's you require and unzip them and put them in a folder on the PC. Then with POI Loader from Garmin locate your POI's in the folder and then POI Loader should put them all onto the SD card.
Take the SD card and put into the SD slot in the unit. Pres the NAV button to change to the Navigation system and it should automatically change to a screen that says there are new POI's on the SD card then press the screen to confirm you want to load these into memory on the unit. Job Done !! |

Can you try using a different SD card, perhaps the one you have is not being seen by the Kenwood due to access speed or the type of format - Mike |

I haven't actually tried a different card, Can anyone recommend any particular type that has been proven to work & how should I format it FAT FAT32 NTFS?

Yep I definitely have that.
I've borrowed another SD card from my neighbour & tried that also with no luck however his card is slightly different as it has 2 extra conections on the back (9 in total) where as mine only has 7, what are the differences & what sort of SD card should I be using? |
