I've noticed a new setup on the A13 both directions, one each side. A white lamp-post affair with a boom that hangs over the LH lane with about 5 cameras and some sort of box/detector slung under each camera. The camera unit looks similar to the mobile per lane ones that they stick on the bridge over the M25 at Clacketts.
any idea what these are?
Would be odd if they are speed, as there's a gatso on the eastbound side just after it. Scanning number plates to catch the no MOT/TAX vehicles, perhaps?
Didn't get a GPS fix for them, sorry, not set that back up since I rebuild my pda after the ROM upgrade, but going east from blackwall, it's just before the second SC, and going west, think it's a way after the last one before Blackwall.

ah, yes just like the pic later in the post you quote, thanks.
Big brother is definately watching us these days, still if they do actually manage to catch the evaders that may help the rest of us - but of course they'd never actually reduce the road license charge, even if they were making more money.
Only thing with tracking criminals is they are bound to be turning up at innocent addresses....assuming they have cloned someone else's plate which is pretty much guaranteed isn't it?
And no doubt pretty soon they'll have the ability to clock your speed over distance on your journey, and bye bye license for a large number of us....
