I've pretty much resigned myself that I am about to have to flatten and reinstall my ICN750 from scratch, but before I blow out them cobwebs, I figured I'd check for a possable fix.
When I got my ICN, first thing I did was to put the latest camera poi's on it. After a couple of updates I inadvertently changed the name I given the uploads on Smart desktop, poi manager. So no problem if I just delete the old files afterwards
During first reboot I got a mapping error, then a fatal error and reboot anywhere near a camera on screen. Also the active poi screen still showed these deleted files but crashed upon accessing one of them.
Figuring it to be my poi mistake, I deleted all my loaded poi's, including the old poi's AGAIN??
Reboot and same symtoms. A check again with Smart desktop showed the old poi's were still there. They just wouldn't die.
Soft reset, Hard Reset, Thrown on the floor, to no avail.
Only temporary fix was to reinput the poi's with the same old names. This worked a treat, untill of course i named the files wrong again on the next camera update, and repeated the prossess again. (never learn)
I have also tried unactivating them prior to deletion but no joy.
I know it still works at the moment but it could be a problem if I start using the speed zone database. If anything, very annoying.
The ghost files might be locked, or corrupt, or it has corrupted an indexing file (unlikly). I think I need a way into the device, maybe through active sync or sumin'.
Any Ideas Folks
Thanks. _________________ Dom
