Hi all.. I have been toying with the idea of getting a pda with tomtom but now
I think I may go for one of these ppc/phone or a smart phone. Ideally the device will be a contract one and with the ability to run tomtom or tomtom mobile smoothly. I have been eyeing up several devices like the mda exec and some orange spv's . I was also looking at nokia and sony ericsson's. It really is all too much!!! Could anyone offer some suggestions please? |

Go with a Pocket PC Phone with thumbboard and integrated GPS - gives you the best of all worlds. Have a look at the iPAQ 6915 or other thumbboard Pocket PC Phones. _________________ Lutz

I went for the MDA Vario smart phone on the T-Mobile web & walk tariff, thus, you can get unlimited interent access
Search around, I got my phone delivered the next day free [ i.e. I did not have to pay for the phone], tho is it on contract but only something like £30 a month, and you get 150 any network mins...
Top phone, no problems at all. _________________ National Courier Network & Free GPS Tracking |

cheers fella. I was looking at the vario but i seem to recall it may have been a little under powered. Well i bit the bullet the other day. After days of research i came to the conclusion stuff the mobile phone part of the equation. Although the ipaq looked lovely i really could not afford it. I have a work supplied Vodafone VPA iv but it is truly huge and crashes often. I decide to go for a pda and sat nav combo. In the end I went for the Dell Axim X30 624mhz including bluetooth and wireless. The guy even supplied a 32 channel gps receiver for it for the total sum of 155 pounds including postage. Should arrive tommorow fingers crossed. It is second user but comes with windscreen mount and chargers and sync cables.
Many thanks for all your help :-) |
