When I plug my tomtom into the usb 2 port is it charging the unit?

Or does it only charge when plugged into mains/cigarette lighter?

Ta.

As the green light does not come on when the unit is connected, I would say that it is not charging.

There is not enough power from a USB Port to enable Charging of the TT.;)

Really?

That seems weird.

My phone charges from pc and that needs a 5v input.

I did have a cigarette lighter attachment for my pc a while back, wonder if i can dig it out.

Twas a bit like this one:

What if i were to get a mains wall adapter which i could plug the usb into?

Does the phone need a high charging current?

The Car Adaptor has a 2A fuse in it, for a very good reason.

On a AIO TT the charging is not done through the USB either, but through a dedicated Power Socket.

My warning would be, that you change it at your own risk.;)

TomTom is, however, selling a USB/Mains charger for the One. So obviously it is possible to charge it either through the USB plug or the power plug.

I used to charge my One exclusively from the PC - get USB/Charger splitter lead (similar to the type supplied with the PSP) so you can plug into the power connector.

Thanks for that tip, Tony. I just picked one up at Radio Shack and it works like a charm for a lot less than a mains charger.

USB charging works only with new ONE mk II models, not with original ONE (mk I). Crying or Very sad

If you get a dual USB and charging cable for about three quid on ebay you can charge any TT from USB
