I have just installed Route 66 Navigate 7 Europe for Bluetooth Pocket PC (version 7.0.990) and am having difficulties.
My Pocket PC is running Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0 and my contacts are stored within its standard contacts feature.
When selecting "Navigate to" / "Contacts" and choosing any of my contacts it returns the error "No Search Results". Is this a known issue?
I looked through route66's FAQ's and could not find an answer (also emailed their support) so am hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.

I get the message
"Too many search results:
Only cities and postcodes are shown.
No such locations in that category"
It is probably down to how the contacts information is stored, I will have a play around and see if I can find a way of getting this feature to work (I never used it as the PDA I have Route 66 loaded on had no contacts stored on it) - Mike

Well I have got this working sort of, by entering a contact with the following address (near where I work):
Church Road
Preston
When you hit Nav/ Contacts and select it, the search takes 188 seconds!! and then presents 2191 locations that you have to manualy select from - Not very good at all. I am running the software on an Imate PDA-N which isn't the fastest device around, so this could explain the slow speed, but I found a better way.
Change the contact details to "Route 66 speak" , i.e.
1 Church Road
[Warton; Preston;
Lancashire] (PR4 1)
This is the same syntax you are presented with when you select Nav to Locations, once you find what you are looking for in the list simply select it and look at the bottom left of the screen, the full text string is displayed there. Simply type this in to the contacts home address field and it works.
Using the revised method found the location within 8 secnds and didn't present a list to chose from, a single entry was listed.
Perhaps you need to consider editting your contacts address list to be compatable with Route 66 langauge - if you have a large contact database wait for a very rainy day, as this will take some time to get right Also I would recommend you verify each contacts address is correct before you trust using it or you might end up somewhere interesting, but not where you intended.
One other option is to spend some time creating a POI file containing the contacts address, although this is just as problematic, the Nav to options are somewhat troublesome to get working how you want, I found the POI file method the best, but this is your call, either edit your address book (probably the best solution, now you know what is required) or create POI.
Got the Grey matter going for a while sorting this one out, but the details in contacts address was the first thought, now we know - Mike
Thank you very much for going to so much time and effort to figure this out.
With over 200 contacts in my address book this could certainly take more time than I have. I do feel kinda cheated by Route 66 for promoting a feature which clearly does not work with the majority of normal entries in an address book.
If you're the developer and out there reading this, maybe this could be improved upon in future versions :D

Its not unusual for a sat nav package to behave in this way when entering nav to contacts, I have found other products are similar - choose your most frequent to sort out, then work thrugh the remainder, once its done it is worth it - Mike
