|
|
Upgraded my one to the 6.12 firmware
all fine on 256mb and 512mb card
now using a 2gb card and it loads to splash screen then just goes black screen
If you boot in TomTOm Home it still reads and shows the location ok on the 2gb card, but as soon as you discoonect and try and use the unit on its own! Black screen
anyone had anything similar or found a work around!

I use a 2Gb SD in a RIDER (A ONE with no speaker) without having this sort of problem. The card is 80x, I think. _________________ Tim |

Hi
Yep tried pinning it,
Strange thing is in TomTom Home the unit fires up and you can browse the maps etc on the 2Gb card, so they are there and working,
Its just when you try and boot it from the 2GB card it goes black screen,
Works fine on smaller cards.
Card was a Dabs.com one Only 33X I think but never had any problems with cheap dabs cards before.
Really got me scratching the head now!!

And to rub salt into the wound
The 2GB Card works perfectly in the TTOne When The Old version firmware is installed on it,
SO 2Gb Works with 5.4x Firmware and old maps
Does Not Work with 6.12 and any maps
512Mb Works with 6.12 Firmware and UK Only Map (But is too small for the seamless US Map)!!!
Grrr!!!
Has anyone got a 2Gb card and the new firmware workin on a One???? |

did you try to put older firmaware 1st and then upgrade to 6.12, I had today same kind of problem but that solved it. |

Yep tried that as well
2GB Card works just fine with 5.4x firmware and maps, as soon as I upgrade it by any method it just shuts down at the splash screen
Tried over a dozen times different ways of format etc. No Joy
So stuck with my 512mb card for now!! |

try this
- have two cards ready, one with 5.42 and your 2GB one with 6.12
- insert 5.42 card, let it boot up completely
- remove that card and insert the 2 GB card _________________ Lutz

No Didnt work
Booeted 5.45 from the smaller SD, took that out instered 2GB it rebooted and shutdown on the splash screen again!
Looks like a lot of people in the same boat from the conversations on the yournav site. hope for an upgrade to cure it soon!
Cheers

I think that's why they pulled the update as it doesn't like slower speed cards. I'm sure they'll release it again when they've cured whatever causes it not to work on the slower cards.
As an aside. What would cause it to not work on slower cards? _________________ Tom Tom ONE |

SD cards are notorious for their signal timing issues. for whatever reason 6.12 has pushed the limit too far for some cards
My understanding is that a fix is currently being tested _________________ Lutz

What is the capacity of the sd card that goes with the tt one as standard? What would be the maximum capacity that it can handle? Is there a specific brand of sd card that is best to use on a tt one? Does the speed of the sd card matter? |
