Hi
Sorry if this has been covered Elsewhere, Cant Find it if it is.
If you have rechargeable batteries installed in the i3, Do they get recharged if the Unit is being used in the Car.
Or does the i3 not have the capabilities to recharge while driving.
Just that I noticed when I use the i3 in the House connected to the pc via usb it seems as if there is more charge in the Batteries once i disconnect it form pc

No - the i3 has no recharge circuit, sadly.

not as good now as they were in the Old Fish Days.
Remember seeing them at Playhouse in Edinburgh and they Rocked.

Thought I'd join in the party... :D
Getting back on subject, as soon as my i3 is out-of-warranty I'm going to fit a battery charging circuit. Depending on how that goes, I might consider offering it as an upgrade service to other owners. |

Don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but when the batteries died in the car recently and the wife tried to plug in the car power cord, the unit wouldn't switch on until the batteries were removed. Was a bit anoyed as it means it not really possible to change power supplies single handed when in the car.
Strange 'cause it'll work fine with batteries in place and connected to the PC.
Maybe it was just the wife being stupid (hope she doesn't read this later - ).
Can anyone confirm the unit will work from car power with the batteries on place??
Thanks
Andy
p.s.
Using some 2600mh rechargables from EBAY http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZvapextech, very impressed. |

Yep, no problem at all - I use the car adaptor lead, but keep a set of Duracells in it (speeds up acquisition times). |

For me the i3 works fine powered from the car with the charged batteries in place. However I don't know if this is still the case if, as was the case for your wife, the batteries are discharged. |

Funny you should mention that, my wife is away with the kids over half term and took the i3 with her. She rang up the night before last and complained that it has stopped working, even with the power lead plug into the car (I think she was under the impression that the batteries would be recharged when plugged in). I will tell her to take the batteries out and see if it works OK.
It would nice to have this "feature" confirmed. _________________ Chas

Exactly what I had assumed, though apparently not the case. Would like an explanation why? _________________ Chas
