as far as i know tt mobile 5 doesnt work on c550 due to the screen resolution being different
there are threads on this forum that tell you what to do if you look

in that case has the reciever been paired with the phone
in tom tom go to the gps setup page and change the setting to other gps device from tt's own brand
that should fix it hopefully

How do you go to the gps setup page. All I know is how to go to the configure gps page, which is under preferences. That page does not give you the option to change the gps device. |

in preferences find show gps status page and select that
then it should open with a window showing the gps status
at the bottom select configure
the you should be able to select other gps device
i do the following
from the main tt open page press
5 change settings
6.6.6
this will bring you to the show gps page
select 1 to open the page
are you sure you have tom tom mobile 5 and not an earlier version
hope this helps |

Sorry to bother you so much. I am definitely running Tom Tom mobile 5. When I go to configure on the GPS status page I only have the following two options:
Time format
Units e.g degrees or minutes.
I can't see the option to select another GPS unit.
Please could you explain further. Do I have to be connect via bluetooth to the reciever before I try this?
Sorry for all the hassle |

sounds like you are on the right page
however my display is slightly different
i have no gps device
then a w 0.000degrees
s0,0000degrees
then some bars that have nothing in them
at the bottom of the screen is on the left a configure and on the right a done
on my set up the bottom of the sceen has a configure in the left hand corner
use the left key just under where it says configure then a picture of tt gps unit should appear use the joystick to go down one page to other gps unit
then click select
if its not there you may have to contact someone with more experiance than myself
