I've moved TomTom Navigator 5 from its 128mb SD card to a 1Gb PNY Technologues SD card using a Dazzle Zio Hi-Speed SD card reader. I moved the contents of the card into a folder on my PC desktop and then back on to the 1Gb card through the reader on to the card.
When I start TomTom using the new card it puts up a legal notice, to which I have to agree, and then says: "No maps found!", and asks me if I want to download a map.

The files on your main PC are probably OK, the Dazzle card readers are not very good at all, I had a 'Dazzle*Hi-Speed USB 2.0' and it ruined all my cards, could not use them in my Olympus camera or anything, got Dazzel to send me a utility program that would restore them, but lost all of the data on them. Now this is not helping you, what you may have to do is connect your PDA via ActiveSync to your main PC then transfer the files from your main PC back to the storage card on your PDA, it will take for ever because of the large map data but should work OK.
Before you try that, using your Dazzel, format the new 1GB card, does not seem to matter what format you use, FAT, FAT16 etc, then transfer the data to it as described above, if you don't format the card first then sometime although you cannot see the file on the PDA it will make a second copy of them and when you look at the storage card memory on the PDA it has used twice the amount.
O'h, and yes I know you can see the files on the card when Exploring on your main PC, it all looks fine, but the Dazzle card reader puts it in a format only it can read when using SD cards, very clever Dazzle - NOT.

Is there a card reader you would recommend?
TIA
