Anyone know of any software that will let me get at a textfile of my (current and/or historical, for x minutes/miles etc) longitude / lattitude?
If so, I'm thinking of trying a basic tracking system, where my GPS receiver (BT 338) gets the location, and and I send this via Bluetooth'ed GPRS connection to a server on the .net. Then some funky software on the .net server, translates overlays the long/latt position, to show my "realtime" position.
Any software that will meet the most basic requirement? ie getting at my long/latt ? _________________ --

do you want this to be a textfile that keeps all your positions or just the most recent one? Or separate text files for each position (no, that'won't make much sense)
What program do you want to use to send the file?
It may be easier to compile a program that does all this in an integrated fashion - listen to the COM port, extracting the coordinates, and posting them via HTTP post somewhere. _________________ Lutz

Hi lbendin,
Just the current position would do as a minimum, but I like the concept of historical tracking as well.
Never thought about writing an app. Got a fair bit of experience in coding, none on PPC - although it can't be that different. Time to look for a VB for PocketPC's if such a beast exists
On a seperate note .. how come your always the first to answer ? 8O You live on this board or something ? _________________ --

Andy: If you need feedback and a tester, I've got time and servers to set it up (Linux). I've been looking for something to show my position on my website and this sounds like it should work. |

Microsoft do Embedded Visual Basic and Embedded Visual C++ products which you can use to develop for Pocket PC. They're free to download from their website. _________________ Barry Davies
