Hi, I have never had a pda before or gps, so imagine my excitement when I got my tomtom + 1710 package. Amazingly I got it working after a bit of head scratching. As I have said I know nothing about pda's, I have the sd card that came with the bundle containing the navigation software in the pda. I have read that I can get a card with a bigger memory, so, if I take the card with navigation software out of the machine and put a bigger one in will I still have the navigation on the pda? ( No Laughing ). I need some basic training here, the info that came with the bundle was less than informative, I did not even know that the reciever had to be powered before it would work, I thought it would work with the power from the pda alone, so it shows how simple I am. |

Hello Martinb
To use a new larger storage card you need to use either a card reader or ActiveSync.
Place your original storage card into the card reader and copy all the files to a folder on your main pc, then place the new card into the card reader and then copy the files back to the new card from where you placed them on your main pc.
If you use ActiveSync via your 1710 it could take quite some time compared to a card reader. |
