Hi, I am a techno idiot but I want to download speed camera locations on to my Navman Icn650 but I am not confident enough to do it myself. Is there anyone in the Nottingham/Derby area who can do it for me? I will pay a reasonable fee and travel. |

Have you edited the temp file in the same way as all the others? _________________ Tim |

What do you mean - the same way as the others - what others. I opened each of the individual files to delete the first line (they seemed to be excel spreadsheet files, is that correct?) and saved them but there are then other files with the same name but with a comma so do you have to change the first line on all of the files. Also when you transfer them to the Navman do you have to do each individual file ie 20 odd files ? Told you I was a techno idiot. Thanks for your help. |

Have you read the first message in this topic?
You need the files which end in .csv and you need to edit them with Notepad, nothing else.
Also, read this page, but ignore any reference to .ov2 files and Tomtom Navigator! _________________ Tim |

Did you use Notepad? Does your top line contain data or a space? _________________ Tim |

When I open the file it opens it on Microsoft Excel. I have deleted the top line ie Longitude,Latitute,Name and so the first line is now a GPS location. and saved it. Am I doing wrong at this point? How do you open the file in Notepad? |

Hi Ian,
I do not get 'open with' when I right click - I am on Windows XP - does that make a difference. Sorry I am being so thick. It is driving me crazy trying to make it work and I appreciate everyones help and I apologise if my thickness causes any frustration. |

Make sure you are opening the original .csv with NOTEPAD and not your previously saved excel file then follow Tim's advice again and you should be good to go. _________________ Ian.

Sincere thanks to icsys and Tim Buxton for your help. I have manged to download the info onto my Navman. It all made sense thanks to both your helps. Fantastic. The cameras are there when I scroll the map. Going out for a ride in the car now to test them under real conditions. Wish me luck.
Thanks guys. |

Nice one Guys...Padres is another happy customer?
Its like all techno gadgets.......first RTFM then PTFM
meaning= read the manual, print the manual????
But were all the same, there will always be something that stumps us
Thanks to forums like this we all look and learn together.
My car today has just sprung a radiator leak so my iCN610 is grounded, but as I work my way through this forum, I`l still learning all the time.
Search by author for me `chas921` there are many replies already submitted in my early learning stages.
Anyhow padres.take care matey
