Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get TomTOM Mobile USA (or California) maps from??
I have TT2 USA maps, is it possible to convert these maps???? I think they are in .cab format??
Hope someone can help as I'm going to USA soon and will need to use my Nokia 6600 to find my way around.
Thanks

You cannot convert V2 maps. Remember, TomTom are in a business, not in a free gift zone.
"CAB" merely specifies the archive format that holds the actual map data files.
However, you can buy the GO maps for the US (on tomtom.com) and use those on your mobile. _________________ Lutz

Did it work?
I have been explicitly told by TomTom that Go maps are not compatible with Mobile, so would be keen to know. |

Flasher,
the CAB file needs to be installed, not extracted with WinZIP.
If you still want to go through the hassle then you find all details on file names in the ".000" file. _________________ Lutz

In the installation menu you can choose to install it to a directory in the computer. Then you jsut need to copy it to the memory card. Navigator 2004 for PocketPC and Palm maps also work fine. |

As long as the map has been extracted it's just a simple drag and drop onto the Memory Card which I access using a memoery card reader. Very fast tranfer rate, and alot less hassle than sending via bluetooth or using nokia software which I couldnt get working at all. |
