All, received today the following answer from TomTom support:

My question was: Dear all, just upgrade to Navigator 5. Now the Destinator GPS device is not longer being recognized. With version 3 it was working ok (yesterday). Using the setting other NE***Devive, baud 4800, serial connection on com1, the little "wheel" in the GPS screen in the top right corner is rotating, but no device detected and no Satellites detected. The destinator GPS device still works on TomTom 3 correctly.Tested this yesterday, by reinstalling tomtom 3.

TOmTOM reply:
Unfortunate we cant support 3rd party's GPS receiver but:

We are updating our software for GPS issues. It will be on our web site in a couple of weeks.
Please download it a and try again.

With best regards,

The TomTom Customer Support Team

your receiver is set to SiRF. Reprogram it to NMEA and TTN5 will work with it.

Pardon my ignorance, but how can I plug my Wired Tom Tom receiver into the PC when it needs a 12 volt power supply to power it?
